School Resource Officer
Barry Goldwater High School
Officer Valerie Rhodes made her faculty debut with the “Truancy: It’s more than Ditching” LRE Academy. She expertly utilized her former experience as a high school teacher and administrator to provide insight on how teens learn and what activities would speak to their experiences. As a current School Resource Officer implementing LRE in the classroom, Officer Rhodes was able to connect how classroom instruction builds relationships with students while equipping them with necessary skills to be successful at school and in life. With the utmost professionalism, Officer Rhodes was quick to communicate with during the lesson planning and development process. She was punctual with lesson due dates and her ideas were essential to the creation of an interactive training cohort. The Foundation looks forward to collaborating with Officer Rhodes for another LRE Academy!
