We the People 101: The Citizen and the Constitution

Event Overview

This training will be held in conjunction with the We the People State Competition. Participants will receive an overview of the We the People program as well as the opportunity to observe live classroom hearings from Arizona students. In addition to observing both a competing and showcasing class, participants will be provided time to reflect on their observations and ask clarifying questions of experienced We the People teachers. Come join in on the excitement of the We the People State Competition and see what makes the program beneficial and EXCITING! All attendees will receive a FREE classroom set of We the People textbooks plus a teacher's guidebook!


Training Objectives:

  • Constitutional Rights and Case Studies
  • Contemporary relevance of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
  • Simulated Congressional hearing

Campus Issues Addressed:

  • Lack of school involvement
  • Lack of understanding rights and responsibilities
  • Low academic achievement
  • Lack of civic participation
