Story Time with LRE

Event Overview

The K-3 grades are an important age group to instill skills and competency with law-related education.  Their learning needs require specifically tailored strategies that will keep their attention and ensure they retain information.  This training will provide participants with tools for working with the primary grades.  The lesson plans provided will utilize children’s literature to address campus issues such as bullying, inappropriate teasing, tattling vs. telling, asking permission before taking things, respecting others and obeying rules.    

Training Objectives:

  • Educate students on the importance of following the rules and laws 
  • Teach students how to show respect for their school community 
  • Provide opportunities for students to apply strategies to avoid negative consequences 

Campus Issues Addressed:

  • Lack of understanding the importance of following rules and laws
  • Lack of respect for school community
  • Lack of civic participation
  • Bullying
  • Stealing

 

      This Academy is FREE for School Safety & COPS Funded Officers. Teachers from School Safety Funded Sites may also attend for free through scholarships. To see if your school is a School Safety Site -
