Child Safety Academy

Event Overview

Teaching to the younger audience can require creative teaching strategies to meet their learning needs. This training will provide participants with the necessary tools for working with the lower grade levels that will tailor to their attention span and academic standards.  The lesson plans provided will focus on student aggression, bully, theft, and vandalism prevention and school drop off safety at a level relevant to the everyday life of younger students.  

Training Objectives:

• Educate students on the importance of following the rules and laws 
• Teach students how to show respect for their school community 
• Provide opportunities for students to apply strategies to avoid unkind situations 

Campus Issues Addressed:

• Lack of understanding the importance of following rules and laws
• Lack of respect for school community
• Lack of civic participation
• Bullying
• School pick up and drop off safety

This Academy is FREE for School Safety  & COPS Funded Officers. Teachers from School Safety Funded Sites may also attend for free through scholarships. To see if your school is a School Safety Site - Click Here.
