Forming Safe and Healthy Relationships

Event Overview

Forming healthy relationships is a skill necessary for teen safety. Teens, like adults, are susceptible to violence or abuse and exploitation in unhealthy relationships. This academy will provide educators with lessons to teach skills in forming healthy relationships with others both online or in person and for platonic or romantic relationships. Students will learn how to identify warning signs of abusive dating relationships and how to get help for themselves or others. Students will also learn strategies for forming healthy relationships with mutual respect and effective communication. These lessons will also provide opportunities for students to practice communicating with others in a relationship or with trusted adults about their relationships.
