Guarding the Gaming Experience: For Staff and Community

Event Overview

Do you know how to guard your students’ online gaming experience?  What are the pros and cons of today’s popular teen games?  Navigating the safety controls, if any, as well as privacy settings can be confusing.  This training is directed to participants who want to learn how to navigate the gaming world and educate their school staff and parents how to guard their students with safety strategies to experience the gaming world with security and good decision-making skills.  This training will cover Fortnite, Roblox, Musically and gamer chat rooms.  Participants will be asked to download these free apps on their smartphone or tablet and practice setting safety controls, privacy settings, navigating the features and learn the pros and cons of each.  By working within the app, participants will have a better understanding of how to educate their community.

*This training is NOT designed for classroom implementation with students.  Participation in this training requires downloading and practicing with the featured free games and apps on their own iPhone or Android device.  Electronic devices can be provided but are limited in number.
