Safe from Cybercrimes

Event Overview

According to a Pew research study, 95% of teens have access to smartphones.  Educating youth on strategies to avoid the consequences of sexting, protect themselves from the dangers of online predators, and prevent cyberbullying can help them enjoy a safe experience with their smartphones and online activity.  Lesson topics such as trolling, impersonating, fake accounts, sexting and stalking will be addressed.  In addition, students will be educated on the consequences of cybercrimes, how to report if targeted, and steps to take to enable privacy and security settings on their electronic devices that have access to the internet.

This Academy is FREE for School Safety funded officers.  Teachers from School Safety funded sites may also attend for free using a scholarship.  To see if your school is a School Safety Site - Click Here.
