Abby is currently teaching at Hamilton High School. Prior to Hamilton, she taught for 9 years at Dobson High School in Mesa, AZ. She has taught English and Social Studies. Abby has been involved with law-related education for 18 years, most directly as a teacher for the “We the People…The Citizen and the Constitution” program sponsored by the Center for Civic Education. Abby’s classes competed against other schools involved in the “We the People” program and have won the Arizona State title six times, including one national championship and three additional top-10 finishes. Due to the success of the program, a group of Dobson’s “We the People” students were invited by President Bush to present a simulated congressional hearing at the White House Forum on History, Civics and Service Learning. Abby’s class was the only school to receive such an honor. Additionally, Abby serves as a mentor teacher for We the People Summer Institute and has been on the Foundation faculty for 13 years. Furthermore, she has been awarded the John J. Ross Award for Excellence in Law Related Education and the Milken Family Foundation's National Educator Award in 2001.
