Marana Police Officer Melissa Ford is the School Resource Officer at Marana Middle School.  In 2018 she won the LRE Officer of the Year award by the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education.  Additionally, she was awarded the School Resource Officer of the Year by the Arizona School Resource Officer Association for 2016 and it completed her third year as a School Resource Officer.  Her objective is to bring unparalleled service and unwavering protection into her school, presenting a positive law enforcement image of integrity and approachability.  A long sought career goal of hers was to be an amazing School Resource Officer and help students make positive decisions.  She is integrally involved in educating, enforcing laws, and being influential with students, staff and parents while promoting a safe environment for the entire school.  The School Safety Grant gives the opportunity to teach law related education to help prevent criminal behavior on and off campus with the ultimate goal to guide students into becoming upstanding and law abiding citizens.  She has years of experience in dealing with the public in many capacities and previously worked in corrections and is especially skilled at keeping a calm and collected demeanor in extreme circumstances.  Officer Melissa Ford is grateful for the privilege of protecting students, staff, and school.
