24 years of service with the Yuma Police Department! Officer Salviejo, the Foundation’s 2019 Officer of the Year is retiring. He is ending his 14th year as a school resource officer for Woodard Jr. High. Prior to that, he served as Neighborhood School Resource Officer for Desert Mesa Elementary, Mary A. Otondo Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, Rolle Elementary, Price and Ron Watson. Officer Salviejo has been active in the School Safety Program since 2009. Officer Salviejo was always willing and available to mentor other officers in the program with his passion and insight for law related education and building bridges with the community and law enforcement. The Foundation will miss Officer Salviejo’ s good nature and humor during trainings and wish him the very best in his next adventure!
