Sepp Sprietsma is a dedicated trainer for the Foundation’s Advanced LRE academies! He always brings a passionate and enthusiastic attitude to each planning meeting and training day. Sepp’s upbeat personality keeps the audience energized and engaged. His experience with online instruction enables Sepp to be mindful of the audience’s comfort with technology and online learning. He provides opportunities for the audience to try online teaching tools and practice their online presence. Sepp is highly adaptable and will adjust his delivery of instruction to motivate the audience and refresh their participation by relating concepts taught in the lesson to their experience as resource officers. As a supporter of LRE programs, Sepp conveys the importance of utilizing LRE’s Best Practices and maintaining the School Safety Program’s goal of juvenile delinquency prevention and addressing real-life issues.
Sepp’s experience as a School Safety Officer allows him the opportunity to demonstrate first-hand how LRE is utilized as an effective tool in a prevention program. His experiences as a former juvenile probation officer provide him with relatable knowledge of the challenges and rewards when working with youth. Sepp ensures that the goal of equipping youth with skills needed in their everyday life to actively engage in their civic responsibilities while understanding how laws impact them is included in each lesson. He is always eager to get started on lesson development, diligently researching the topic, and finding relevant information and interactive activities to add to the training content. Sepp is also interested in the feedback from each academy he facilitates and utilizes the information to improve his skill as an instructor and meet the needs of the audience.
