Youth are provided time 3 days a week at the end of their school day to write letters to family and friends. Mail can be received any day of  the week. All letters received are checked for contraband (but not read) in the presence of the detainee before being delivered.  Detainees may not write to or receive letters from anyone on probation or parole.

Each detainee is given 1 phone call when they are processed into the facility.  Once on the unit, detainees are permitted phone calls based on their level (see rules tab).  Each phone call is 15 minutes in length and must be dialed by the unit staff and approved by the Probation Officer. Long distance calls are not permitted unless dialed collect.

Detainees may call their attorney when needed with no time restrictions.
