What is JMLPE?

JMLPE is a program designed to provide lessons, activities and training for teachers to make the We the People program more accessible English Language Learners, students of color, or students with disabilities.

How do I fit in?

We are seeking 20 Cohort teachers who have not used the We the People program before and not had any training. All you need is a willingness to learn and the ability to implement the program.

Requirements

  • Have at least one class that is composed of 30% or more ELL, students of color, or students with disabilities.
  • Proctor Pre & Post tests.
  • Attend free trainings:
    • 36 hrs. of in-person training at the Summer Institute.
    • 16 hrs. of online training during the school year.
  • Implement the We the People program.

Benefits

  • Free classroom set of textbooks for your students.
  • Limited mileage reimbursement for participants who travel 100 miles or more one way.
  • Hotel accommodations for those required to travel 100 miles or more one way to attend the summer institute.
  • Successful implementation will qualify participants for a stipend.
