HUMAN TRAFFICKING LAW MUCH TOUGHER ON THE GUILTY PARTY

Arizona House Bill 2454 came into law July 24, 2014 making penalties much tougher on those guilty of human trafficking. The law also provides more protection for the victims.  

Section 13-701.24 The defendant was convicted of a violation of section 13-1307 or  13-1308 and the defendant recruited, enticed or obtained the victim from a  shelter that is designed to serve runaway youth, foster children, homeless  persons or victims of human trafficking, domestic violence or sexual assault.  The law also increases the punishment of the defendant when the  Glossary Link minor is fifteen, sixteen, or seventeen years of age.  Section 13-3212.2 and 13-3212.G
