Prepare students for the realities of adulthood by exploring how everyday decisions can carry significant legal consequences after turning 18. This academy equips educators with engaging lessons and activities that help students understand the laws related to alcohol, drugs, vaping, parties, transportation, and criminal charges while developing the decision-making skills needed to navigate real-world situations responsibly. Participants will explore the increased rights, responsibilities, and accountability that come with legal adulthood. A key resource provided is the When You Turn 18 booklet, created by the Arizona Bar Foundation in partnership with the Arizona Supreme Court and the Maricopa County Courts to inform youth about the new rights and responsibilities they receive on their 18th birthday. Educators will leave with practical resources to help students make informed choices, avoid common legal pitfalls, and successfully transition into adulthood. Attendees will receive a complimentary classroom set of the When You Turn 18 booklets as well as $100 in free curriculum resources.
