Shannon Sweat-Post has been involved with law related education programs for over twenty years. She began her career in education teaching Social Studies and coaching Mock Trial. She helped coach several Mock Trial teams to the State Competition and one to the National Competition. In 2004, she attended the Arizona We the People Summer Institute and fell in love with the “We the People” program. She taught and coached “We the People” for four years at Dobson High School. During this time, she took four teams to nationals, with two of them placing in the top ten. Shannon has been a District Coordinator for the “We the People” program and has judged for the Arizona We the People Summer Institute and has also been a Mentor. She was also a Facilitator for both the 2021 and 2022 “We the People” National Championships. Shannon has also served multiple times as a Project Citizen Judge. While teaching at Desert Edge High School, Shannon took teams of students to both “We the People” and iCivics AZ State Competitions. Shannon has experience teaching at both the high school and college levels.
