Tara Bartlett is an English teacher at Carson Jr. High in Mesa, AZ. She is also the English Department Chair at her school. Tara's dedication to civic education is far ranging, as she is also involved in the We the People: The Citizen and The Constitution program as a Competition Event Coordinator. Over the past several years she has planned a successful competition for high school teams competing in the east valley. This includes event logistics, as well as recruiting judges from the community to participate. This year Tara took part in the Project Citizen program with a group of her students. They did an incredible job and won the oral hearing portion of the Project Citizen State Competition held on May 14, 2018 at Grand Canyon University. Tara’s commitment to the Project Citizen program and her students can be seen in the enthusiasm shown by her students. She has the ability to reach students of all levels and promote public policy and the importance of making a difference in the community is wonderful. Job well done to Tara and her students!
