Welcome to Arizona Mock Mediation! This exciting program for Arizona high school students focuses on learning the process of legal mediation while developing life-long skills like collaboration, negotiation, public speaking, and quick thinking. A brief overview of the program:

  • Students compete in teams of 3, and take turns playing the roles of advocate, client, and mediator.

Volunteer Need: Attorney Judges

What does volunteering for the Arizona Mock Mediation Tournament entail?
Judges will analyze student mediation and score them on a provided rubric. You can volunteer for the morning rounds from 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or the afternoon rounds from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided at judge orientations.

If you are not available to serve as a volunteer, but would like to make a contribution to the program, please click here to donate online or send a check made out to the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education to be used to help further the Mediation Tournament program.

The Arizona Mock Mediation Tournament focuses on learning the process of a legal mediation while developing life-long skills like collaboration, negotiation, public speaking and quick thinking.

The Mock Mediation Tournament provides students an opportunity to compete in teams of 3 and take turns playing the roles of advocate, client, and mediator. 

Judges will analyze student mediation and score them based on the provided rubric. Breakfast and lunch are provided at orientations.

  • Morning Judges - Round 1 & 2
    • 8:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Afternoon Judges - Round 3 & Championship Round
    • 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Full Tournament Judges
    • 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Arizona Mock Mediation Tournament focuses on learning the process of a legal mediation while developing life-long skills like collaboration, negotiation, public speaking and quick thinking.

The Mock Mediation Tournament provides students an opportunity to compete in teams of 3 and take turns playing the roles of advocate, client, and mediator. 

Room hosts will support the tournament by making sure that the rounds start and end on time and verifying that the correct teams are in the room, ensuring a smooth event for students and judges.  Breakfast and lunch are provided at orientations.
