Researchers have found that verbal aggression is the most frequent form of aggression reported in U.S. schools across all grade levels. “Verbal aggression can be a significant pre-cursor to physical aggression by both victims and perpetrators, and that it is correlated with a host of other negative consequences.”
This training will provide participants with lessons to teach their students effective communication skills that express feelings and opinions with respect. Students will learn the role law enforcement and schools play in providing a safe learning environment while also learning their responsibility with appropriate and legal expression of ideas. Consequences for disrupting the school environment with disrespectful expressions will also be addressed to further assist students with understanding their civic role in society.
School Safety Program funded officers are welcome to attend, but this training will not fulfill their yearly training requirement.
