Promote Civic Engagement Through iCivics.org

Event Overview

Through the use of online games and engaging lessons, students learn civics while having fun!  Participants of this training will learn how to use specific online games and lessons to prepare students to be active, engaging citizens in our society.  iCivics includes lessons that align to nearly all Arizona social studies civics standards and are free to educators.

*Mileage reimbursement up to $100 available to those traveling at least 100 miles one way to attend training. Mileage reimbursement is limited and awarded on a first-register (and attend)/first serve.

Training Objectives:

  • Educate youth on their Constitutional Rights
  • Explore the iCivics.org site to learn about the educational tools available
  • Encourage youth to be civically engaged

 

 Campus Issues Addressed:

 

  • Lack of understanding of rights and responsibilities
  • Low academic achievement
  • Lack of civic participation
  • Lack of interest in school

This Academy is FREE for all educators who work with youth.
