Valerie Rhodes has been an Officer with the Phoenix Police Department for the past fifteen years. Officer Rhodes has served in many areas within on Department, the Domestic Violence Unit, Adult Sex Crimes Unit, Assaults Unit, and Patrol. The 2022-2023 school year was her first year as a School Resource Officer at Barry Goldwater High School.  Being part of the team at Barry Goldwater High School has been a blessing and has allowed Officer Rhodes opportunities to join her previous career as a high school teacher and administrator with being an Officer and using her skills to build relationships with the student, faculty, and staff.  Officer Rhodes holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Music Education from Arizona State University as well as a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix. In her free time, she has a therapy dog, Beau, who loves to visit the students at school as wells as many other facilities and put smiles on people’s faces.
