In 2008, Warren’s Project Citizen class portfolio won the Idaho Showcase and was featured as Idaho’s representative in Washington, D.C. In 2015, Warren landed a job at Sunnyside High School in Tucson, where he taught U.S. Government classes using Level 3 of the We the People textbook. In 2016, Warren taught Sunnyside High School’s first Honors Government We the People class, which placed first in Region 3 competition; won Unit 6 in state competition, and was awarded the Warren E. Burger invitation to compete in the National We the People Competition in Washington, D.C. In 2017, Warren received the John J. Ross Award for Teacher Excellence in Law Related Education. Warren was privileged to serve as a mentor at the 2017 WTP Summer Institute in Albuquerque and the 2018 WTP Summer Institute in Phoenix. Warren retired in May of 2019, bringing to a close his 44 year career in public education. Warren hopes to continue to serve as a LRE faculty member as long as they will have him. Warren enjoys singing, walking, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife and four grandchildren!
