Empowering Students to Influence Public Policy

This two-day Academy is for educators who serve an upper elementary, middle and/or high school population.  Educators are invited to this two-day training that will assist them in implementing this curriculum in their 5th-12th grade classroom using the Project Citizen Program.

A limited supply of private, 1 night hotel accommodations is available for those traveling 100 miles or more one-way to attend the training. Additionally, a limited amount of mileage reimbursement (up to $100) is available for those traveling 100 miles or more one-way to attend the training.

Event Overview

During this interactive training, participants will learn how to implement inquiry, cooperative learning, and project based learning in their classroom through the Project Citizen Program.  Join us for this two-day training that will invigorate your classroom and encourage your students to become more active citizens.  Through this interdisciplinary program, students will actively explore real-world problems and challenges stimulating their critical thinking skills and civic awareness.  Day one will enable participants to discover the essence of the Project Citizen curriculum, understand the concept of public policy, and become engaged in the process.  Day two will focus on simulating the Project Citizen process.
