Cell Phone Use: What's Legal?

Event Overview

According to a Stanford Medicine study, 25% of youth up to age 10 have phones and by age 12, it increases to 75% and by age 15, 99% had smartphones.[1] In this academy, participants will receive hands-on training for educating youth on the rights and legalities of cell phones. Students may be more tech savvy than adults in their life, however they still need guidance on the appropriate use of cell phone features such as when is it okay to record others. The topics covered will help students understand the consequences surrounding sexting and how to seek help with getting harassing information removed or stopped. Students will also learn how to report inappropriate cell phone content to protect their use.
