After the court hearing concludes, the next steps vary depending on the type of case. Youth in dependency cases typically return to the lobby to debrief with their attorney, family, and others. The Department of Child Safety (DCS) arranges placement if needed. In delinquency cases, next steps depend on the outcome of the case. If youth are being taken into or returned to custody, they will go through this door to be transferred to the detention center.
