Lobby
When youth and their families first arrive at court, they will go through security and then enter this lobby. There is no need to sign in—visitors should find a seat and check the lobby TV for the scheduled courtroom and hearing time. It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early. Visitors who have questions can stop by the information desk. All youth are legally entitled to an attorney. If one is not already assigned, the court will provide an attorney to represent the youth. The attorney will handle any necessary documents and present them to the judge during the hearing.
Juvenile court hearings are held at specific times depending on the type of case. Dependency cases are scheduled throughout the day, Monday through Friday. Delinquency cases are typically held in the late afternoon, from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.
*Please note, this tour was conducted in the spring of 2025. Times and types of hearings may change or be different depending on the individual case. Please contact the court or the youth’s attorney directly to confirm.
