Door to Custody

Door to Custody

After the hearing, several outcomes are possible depending on the case. In some situations, a juvenile may be taken into custody and escorted to the detention center through this door. If that happens, families can schedule visitation through the detention center. Probation staff will be available to guide families through the next steps.

Support is available to help families understand the process. Attorneys are a key resource, and those without one will be provided legal representation. Families can also get help from Juvenile Court Services, probation staff, and the court’s website. For those involved in dependency cases, additional support may come from court-appointed special advocates (CASA) and other professionals working to support the youth and their family.
