Courtroom

Several people are typically present in the courtroom during juvenile hearings. In attendance are the judge, bailiff, and court clerk, along with attorneys for the youth and others involved in the case. Depending on the nature of the case, additional individuals may be present, such as a deputy county attorney, juvenile probation officer, behavioral health representative, Department of Child Safety (DCS) representative, court-appointed special advocate (CASA), and placement caregivers like foster parents or relatives. If there is a victim in the case, the victim may also attend the hearing, along with a victim advocate for support.
