Clearing the Smoke: Marijuana Education
Event Overview
This virtual workshop is for Juvenile Probation Officers & Detention Staff in Arizona. This virtual workshop will equip participants will explore interactive strategies to educate youth about the physical, mental, and social impacts of marijuana use. Captain Brandt Lange, a retired Fire Captain/Paramedic and experienced nurse, will lead a presentation on the physical effects of marijuana, how youth are accessing it, and emerging trends. Participants will learn how to help youth understand the risks and consequences associated with marijuana use.
Training Objectives:
• Develop skills to facilitate interactive discussion that raise awareness about the health and behavioral effect of marijuana use.
• Learn to implement LRE lessons & activities that support youth in building resilience and making healthy life choices.
• Gain knowledge of available LRE resources designed for educators and youth.
