Event Overview

This in-person training will be a live, interactive training. Annual SSO training shall introduce School Safety Officers (SSO) to the philosophy of the School Safety Program, program personnel, the 3 roles of an SSO, Law Related Education, as well as how to work most effectively within the SSPT (school safety program team) on each campus. This training is intended for full-authority police officers who would like to work in an off-duty capacity in School Safety Program funded schools.

This training does not have a prerequisite. Current School Safety Program funded SROs/JPOs are not eligible for this training. Visit https://lawforkids.org/programs/az-school-safety/training for SRO training.

Required Attendance

School Safety Officers who would like to work in an off-duty capacity at any School Safety Program funded schools and who have not completed an SSO training in FY 2027.
