New Officer Training
This in-person training is REQUIRED for NEW School Resource Officers (SROs) and Juvenile Probation Officers (JPOs) who are assigned to a School Safety Program funded site as their primary assignment at their law enforcement agency. This is NOT for School Safety Officers, who provide services to schools in an off-duty capacity. We recommend you sign up for the same training slot as your site administrator so you may work together for Day 2 (Foundations in School Safety).
Hotel accommodations and mileage reimbursement (up to $150) are available for SSP funded SROs and JPOs who work at a school outside of Maricopa County.
Event Overview
This four-day in-person training covers program requirements, statutorily required training for school-based officers, the role of the school-based officers, and an introduction to Law Related Education (LRE) as an essential prevention tool.
- Day 1 will be held from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Day 2 will be held from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Day 3 will be held from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
- Day 4 will be held from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.
