School Safety and Threat Mitigation
Event Overview
This in-person course will walk participants through the requirements and importance of emergency planning on their campus to best prepare their students and staff to respond to threats and emergencies. Throughout the session, attendees will learn about threat mitigation strategies that they can implement on their campus and be provided with best practices for drills and real events.

Supporting DAFN in Emergencies/Drills
Event Overview
Recent legislative updates to Arizona Revised Statute 15-341 (31) (a) states that emergency response plans must address how schools will communicate with and provide assistance to students with disabilities. To support school districts in implementing this mandate, the School Preparedness team will discuss Senate Bill 1315, share resources from current ADE guidance documents, and discuss best practices.

This course will identify the common barriers that all schools face in their attempts to prevent bullying and provide a systematic approach to successfully implementing bullying prevention efforts. Throughout this session, you will navigate your district's/school's bullying prevention policies and practices to determine which barriers you are facing. When you have identified the unique barriers you are facing, this course will offer resources for you to begin planning your strategic efforts for bullying prevention.

Exploring School Cell Phone Policies & Best Practices
Event Overview
This in-person course will give a brief overview of the latest research findings regarding adolescent cellphone use and correlating concerns. Participates will look at current state and local efforts to ban or limit cellphones in schools and discuss key considerations, and common barriers, when establishing/evaluating a school cell phone policy. This course will also discuss ways to replace student screen time with embodied experiences and interactions and provide helpful resources for staff, educators, and parents.
