Constitution Day Classroom Visits

The Connecting with Classrooms program connects educators with attorneys and judges who volunteer to visit classrooms and help students learn about the U.S. Constitution and the legal system. Follow the steps below to coordinate a classroom visit during the week of Constitution Day (September 17)!

Educators 🍎

  1. Create or log in to your LawForKids.org account using the "Log in" button in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Sign Up!" from the left side menu and complete the educator request form. (Note: The educator form is only available in July and August).
  3. Watch for an introductory email from Foundation staff connecting you with your volunteer speaker.
  4. Coordinate a date, time, and classroom activities directly with your guest speaker. (Need some ideas for activities? Visit the Constitution Day lesson plans page.)
  5. Confirm the visit with your guest speaker the day before by email or phone.

Attorneys / Judges ⚖️

  1. Create or log in to your LawForKids.org account using the "Log in" button in the top right corner.
  2. Complete the Volunteer Sign-up Form.
  3. Watch for an introductory email from Foundation staff connecting you with a classroom.
  4. Coordinate a date, time, and classroom activities directly with the educator. (Need some ideas for activities? Visit the Constitution Day lesson plans page.)
  5. Confirm the visit with the educator the day before by email or phone.
