State E- Tournament Highlights

The Arizona Bar Foundation and the Arizona Supreme Court have partnered to bring iCivics Arizona E-Tournaments to Arizona students and educators. This new method of teaching civics allows students to collaborate in teams of 3 to learn about the three branches of government and the role of a citizen. Using the games from icivics.org, teams first prepare for and compete in a statewide, virtual Regional E-Tournament that enables students to participate from their classroom. The top 8 teams from each grade division (6th – 8th grade and 9th – 12th grade), qualify to compete in the iCivics Arizona State E-Tournament. The 16 qualifying teams travel to a gaming facility to play three preliminary rounds of different iCivics.org games. After the 3 preliminary rounds, the top 4 high school teams and top 4 middle school teams move into the final round and compete for the title of iCivics Arizona State E-Tournament Champions! The winners of each division receive an ipad for each team member and a trophy for their school. Highlights from the iCivics Arizona State E-Tournament are below.
