Welcome

The Yavapai County Juvenile Detention Center has an 80-bed capacity, and houses not only juvenile offenders, but has two other programs within the facility. The Bridges Program is for those ineligible to be detained but need up to 23 hours of supervision, while the Journey Program works with youth who have substance abuse issues. The average stay for a detained youth is 24 days. The facility also has the ability to house juveniles who have been booked for adult crimes, referred to as adult remands.

The Youth Juvenile Justice Center is only used, when NECESSARY, for those youth that:

  • Pose a threat to community safety.
  • May fail to show up for their court date.
  • Are at a greater risk of re-offending or being arrested if released before their appointed court date.
