Event Overview
This virtual workshop is for Juvenile Probation Officers & Detention Staff in Arizona. Participants will learn how to teach youth about domestic violence, teen dating violence, and the legal consequences of aggressive behaviors. The Brain Injury Association of Arizona, will provide a presentation on how the teen brain is affected by dating abuse. Participants will then engage in an interactive programming activity educating youth in your care on the dynamics of healthy and unhealthy relationships, including romantic partners, friendships, and authority figures. Programming will help youth understand their rights and responsibilities when navigating relationship dynamics and help them build protective factors through healthy boundaries.
Training Objectives:
• Learn how to engage youth in interactive programming that helps them recognize teen dating violence and unhealthy relationship behaviors.
• Learn how to actively engage youth in LRE lessons & activities that encourage protective factors and promote healthy relationships.
• Discover how to access LRE online resources for educators and youth to address campus issues.
