Event Overview

Annual SSO training shall introduce new School Safety Officers (SSO) to the philosophy of the School Safety Program, program personnel, 3 roles of a SSO and its alignment to the SRO position, Law Related Education (especially the ‘best practices’ and introduction to Universal LRE lessons), as well as how to work most effectively within the SSAPT (school safety assessment and prevention team) on each campus.

This training does not have a prerequisite and replaces the asynchronous training offered previously. Current SROs are not eligible for this training. Visit AZ School Safety for SRO training.

Required Attendance

 All who have not completed an SSO training in FY24 or FY25.
