We are proud to spotlight Shannon Sweat and celebrate the outstanding support she provides to We the People teachers! Shannon recently served as a facilitator at the We the People Summer Institute, where her welcoming approach helped participants feel comfortable and prepared to implement the program. Her strong content knowledge, creativity, and thoughtful ideas continually help strengthen the training experience year after year.
Shannon’s support extends far beyond the institute. As the We the People Technical Assistance Coordinator, she is always willing to provide guidance, share resources, and help teachers navigate implementation and preparing for hearings. She also serves as the mentor for the 2026-27 We the People Cohort, supporting educators as they prepare their students to showcase or compete. Shannon is remarkably generous with her time and talents, regularly creating and sharing materials that make implementation easier for teachers and always stepping up when we need her help. Her kindness, creativity, expertise, and genuine commitment to supporting educators make her an invaluable partner, and we are incredibly grateful for all she brings to the Foundation!
