Visitation

Once entering the building, visitors will be greeted by a security officer who will inquire as to the purpose of the visit and provide direction through the metal detectors. Visitors of the Clerk of Superior Court, are directed one way, while those visiting a detainee will be asked to store all personal belongings in the lockers provided and directed another way.

The facility invites adult visitors to visit the facility during the posted visitation hours. These hours are subject to change and are available to family members who are on the list approved by the juvenile probation officer. They may visit as often as 4 times a week for an hour at a time. These visits are supervised by officers and are subject to limitations (allowed to visit regardless of level or behaviors) and any restraining or keep separate orders in place. Visits may also take place in the outdoor area with the same requirements as the indoor visitation. No food, beverages, or any other items may be brought during the visitation.

The visitation areas are also designed to facilitate meetings with approved professionals, such as probation officers, counselors, attorneys, and religious leaders. With continuity of care to be of utmost concern, strides are taken to accommodate the needs of the youth, with large windowed, private meeting rooms offered.
