Thinking Like a Lawyer: Mock Mediation Summit

Event Overview

Strengthen your students' advocacy, communication, and critical thinking skills through mock mediation! This interactive summit will introduce teachers and students to the mock mediation process using fictional legal disputes that challenge participants to advocate effectively and resolve conflicts with confidence. Teachers are invited to attend with a team of 3 students, who will learn about the roles of mediator, advocate, and client while actively participating in a mock mediation from start to finish. Participants will gain a well-rounded understanding of how mediation works and how negotiation strategies can be used to reach meaningful resolutions. This summit will help teams get started with mock mediation and prepare for future classroom implementation or tournament participation.
