CSI Arizona Qualification Scenario
01/08/2027 - 03/05/2027 6:00 pm
Competition Overview
The qualification scenario requires teams of 4-6 students to produce a report documenting how the evidence from a mock crime scene was processed, preserved, analyzed, and interpreted. The top teams in each division, middle and high school, are invited to compete in the in-person CSI Arizona State Competition. During the State Competition, each team will be presented with a simulated crime scene and evaluated through a series of competition rounds. Team will be evaluated on the following areas:
- Scene preservation, documentation, and evidence collection
- Evidence processing and physical examination
- Investigative interviewing
- Final presentation of hypothesis
This event is free for SSP funded schools. For all other schools, a small team fee applies only if you qualify and accept an invitation to State. There is no cost to submit a qualification scenario.
Helpful Tips for Completing the Registration Process
- Be prepared to enter information for each student.
- Member = Student
- Enter the exact total of students (members). Upon returning to your registration at a later date, you will only be able to edit existing members and will not be able to add new team members. It is recommended that you create a team member(s) titled "TBD" under name to save an open field in the registration system in order to have a total of 6 members per team as well as to have a place holder for future additions. Please note that all "TBD" placeholders must be updated with the student's actual information before submitting the Qualification Scenario.
- ALL edits and alternates must be submitted no later than the due date of the Qualification Scenario.
- Do not enter educator/coach information in the first section. You will be asked in the "Educator Information" section to enter educator contact info.
- If you are not working with an Officer, please enter N/A in the "Officer Information Section".
- Accurately complete the information for each student as the aggregate data is required and shared with our funders for continued funding for future years.
