Safe Driving

Overview:

Obtaining a driver’s license is an exciting rite of passage for most teens. During this academy, participants will learn interactive ways to educate students on responsible driving. Participants will receive a variety of materials and curricula that will cover issues such as DUI, graduated driver’s license, traffic stops, distracted driving, hands free laws, and self-driving cars. These lessons and activities will assist them in preparing students to become safe and responsible drivers.  

Academy Objectives:

• Understand the responsibilities of driving
• Identify ways to be a safe driver
• Recognize rules and laws of driving

Campus Issues Addressed:

• Conflict due to traffic laws/infractions
• Student injury due to distracted driving
• Traffic accidents on and around school campus
