Kids Voting AZ: Empowering Future Voters Morning Workshop
Event Overview
Are you ready to teach civics by engaging your students in the Presidential Election?! Educators will learn how to utilize online games and activities to foster excitement about voting and civic engagement. Now is the time to spark excitement for civic engagement. Grab their attention now so that they continue to vote as adults. This academy will include instructions for setting up a school or classroom mock election. The focus is on informed voting and participation in Kids Voting AZ elections, without discussing specific candidates. Participants of this workshop will receive lesson plans, “I Voted” stickers, Family Activity Booklets, and Kids Voting Arizona staff will be available to answer questions while participants register their class to vote.
Academy Objectives:
· Learn how to participate in the 2024 Kids Voting AZ Presidential Election
· Explore online games and resources to teach youth about elections
· Understand how to effectively utilize the Kids Voting AZ website
Campus Issues Addressed:
· Lack of understanding of rights and responsibilities
· Low academic achievement
· Lack of civic participation
· Lack of interest in school
School Safety Program officers are welcome to attend but this training will not fulfill the yearly training requirement.
