Social Media and Campus Issues
Overview:
This academy will provide educators with lessons and a scripted trial that will enable the middle and high school students to interactively learn about the judicial system and how social media can impact their school and professional careers. The skills taught in these lessons will provide an opportunity for students to practice public speaking, writing, and critical thinking. The scripted trials will provide a starting point for conducting a case trial where students can learn the steps and roles of a courtroom and strengthen their understanding of the legal system while also learning about the legal and social consequences of social media posts.

- Encourage public speaking, informed decision making, and critical thinking skills
