Addressing Bullying Behaviors
Overview:
According to the 2022 Arizona Youth Survey, about 40% of students reported seeing someone punched, kicked, choked, or beaten up during the school year. Students also reported being harassed online or through texts. This academy will cover topics that explore the consequences of relational aggression, stalking, and harassment through bullying behavior. Participants will receive hands-on training with lessons that will equip their students with skills to address traditional and cyber bullying that affects student life.
Academy Objectives:
- Educate youth on the laws and rules that exist to protect their academic experience
- Teach students strategies to address bullying behavior in appropriate ways
- Provide opportunities for students to empower students to become an upstander

- Apathy toward targets of bullying
- Lack of understanding rights and responsibilities
- Lack of empathy
- Bullying behavior
