Mock Mediation

This program teaches youth about a lesser-known part of the judicial system — mediation! Cases that go to mediation are resolved through discussion rather than going to court. By participating, students develop valuable skills such as analyzing facts, conflict resolution, public speaking, and self-advocacy. They also gain a deeper understanding of rights, laws, and responsibilities.

A brief overview of the program:

  • Students compete in teams of 3 and take turns playing the roles of advocate, client, and mediator.
  • At this stage in the program's development, we are limiting participation to the first 8 schools to sign up a team. If any spots remain open after the initial registration period, registered schools will have the opportunity to register additional teams.
  • For 2025 only, we are excited to announce that we are waiving the tournament registration fee!

Be sure to check the Important Dates and Competition Registration pages for tournament details and to register your team. This program also depends on volunteer judges with real-world mediation experience. If you believe you meet the qualifications and would like to volunteer, please visit the Judge Registration page.
