When You Turn 18: Preparing Students for Financial Success

When You Turn 18: Preparing Students for Financial Success

Event Overview

Prepare your high school students for the legal and financial responsibilities that come with turning 18! This academy equips educators with the tools to empower their students in understanding crucial aspects of personal finance, including banking, credit, and legal obligations. Join us to ensure that your students step confidently into adulthood, equipped with the legal knowledge needed for financial success. A key tool provided is the “When You Turn 18” booklet, a resource created by the Arizona Bar Foundation in partnership with the Arizona Supreme Court and the Maricopa County Courts to inform youth about the new rights and responsibilities they receive on their 18th birthday. By participating in interactive activities, students will be provided with important life skills to assist them in exercising their rights while remaining law-abiding community members. Attendees will receive a set of the “When You Turn 18” booklets.

Academy Objectives:

  • Engage students in key issues pertaining to their first years as adults
  • Learn strategies to advise students on making informed choices
  • Provide scenarios for students to understand multiple perspectives
