Region 1 Mock Trial Tournament (ONLY REGION 1)
Tournament Overview
Regional tournaments are held each year, in which teams present their cases before a real judge. The winning teams of each regional tournament, the teams with the most convincing presentations, are invited to compete in the State Tournament held in Phoenix. The winner of the State Tournament is eligible to compete at the National High School Mock Trial Championship held in May. Recognized as one of the top programs in the country, Arizona has had teams place in the top ten several times since our participation began in the 1980's. If your school is not currently participating in this exceptional extracurricular academic program, we invite you to make this the year to start.
The Mock Trial Tournaments are available to all Arizona high schools and classrooms.
Helpful Tips for Completing the Registration Process
- Be prepared to enter information for each student.
- Member = Student
- Enter the exact total of students (members) as well as alternates. Upon returning to your registration at a later date, you will only be able to edit existing members and will not be able to add new team members. It is recommended that you create a team member(s) titled "TBD" under name to save an open field in the registration system in order to have a total of 9 members per team as well as to have a place holder for future additions.
- ALL edits and alternates must be submitted no later than February 17th.
- Do not enter educator/attorney coach information in the first section. You will be asked in the "Educator Information" section to enter educator contact info.
- Accurately complete the information for each student as the aggregate data is required and shared with our funders for continued funding for future years.
- Remit payment - $300 per team. A Square Invoice will be emailed to you upon submission of your registration. You can utilize the invoice to pay with a credit card or mail with a check. Purchase Orders are also accepted. Your registration is only complete once payment is remitted.
