Q:What are the DREAM Act and DACA?

A: The DREAM Act stands for the Development, Relief, and Education for Minors Act, the goal of the act was to provide a way for undocumented children immigrants (DREAMers) to gain permanent status. DACA, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, is the legislation that evolved from the DREAM Act that may allow people who meet certain criteria to have their status temporarily deferred. This Act is currently under debate, for the latest information on the status of DACA go to www.uscis.gov.
