Avoiding A Mob Mentality

Overview:
The Youth Result Behavior Survey System reported being threatened or injured with a weapon at school and not going to school because of safety concerns has increased. The lessons provided will address the consequences of aggressive and violent actions. Participants will learn how to equip students with strategies to recognize escalating conflict online and in-person. Students will have the opportunity to evaluate their own actions that may contribute to a mob mentality, including learning about “Preston’s Law”. In addition, students will learn strategies for intervening safely on behalf of their peers and to help provide a safe learning environment for their school community.
